The Synod Assembly is the highest legislative authority of the Slovak Zion Synod. Towards the close of spring and the opening of summer each year, the synod assembly convenes to uplift and celebrate ministries and address the issues facing the leaders, congregations, and agencies within the synod. We gather together for business, but also for worship, spiritual enrichment, engagement in inter-congregational fellowship, and many more opportunities with each year.

Information on each assembly, registration and details, news and media, and more are all available from this page.

Highlights:
Our synod's 22nd assembly concluded upon final debarkation of the Carnival Glory in New York, upon return from Saint John, in the early morning of July 12th. This assembly was not only a special celebration, but innovative in creating a new, more adventurous and economic venue for hosting assemblies. It also spurred an all-casual fellowship, that turned complete strangers from different congregations, into the best of friends in a matter of days. We rolled out the synod's current theme, shown as our tagline, "Cleansed. Calmed. Commissioned." This theme engaged our assembly into deep thought about our baptisms, and how it is Jesus, who calms the storms of our life, when we have faith, and that by holding onto that faith, we have the strength to go out, and accomplish our ultimate mission, thereby commissioning each one of us as missionaries.  Special enrichment sessions further studied our theme, and focused on mission and the change that our congregations can instill upon the world. (Enrichment sessions available on Media page.) Gatherings were led by the Rev. David L. Jones, and Thomas S. Drobena, bible studies and enrichment sessions were led by Rev. Allen R. German, Thomas S. Drobena, Rev. David L. Jones, and Terry Bruce.
Above: Bishop Kucharek builds upon the theme of our assembly in her 2010 message to congregations, during her sermon at the Sunday Eucharist.
